Still Working
Just finished my first week of my extension at my hospital in Dallas.  Things are going fairly well, I am precepting another nurse that is new to the ER.  Thila and I are looking forward to going to OZZ FEST here in Dallas on Aug 9, It is the only concert Ozzy is doing this summer. I will be going back to Shreveport tomorrow to pick up Thila.  She was there to see her sister from West Texas.

Richard Petty Driving Experience
Mood:  on fire

I won a day at the Richard Petty Driving Experienc, held at the Texas Motor Speedway. 

I drove to Shreveport on Friday to pick up my Son Nathan and his Girlfriend.  They wanted to come watch me drive a real Nascar.

The experience was greater than I could have imagined.  While preliminary stuff was beng done,  a staff member asked Nathan if he would like to drive too.  Nathan said "SURE"

We both drove the #7 car for 8 laps.  I went 123-129 mph, Nathan kept it at a neat 100 mph.  Oh yeah, Nathan had never driven a standard before getting in this Nascar.  I and his mother are very proud of how well he did.

Stockyards
Today we visited the Fort Worth Stock Yards today and ate supper at the cattleman's steakhouse.  We looked at several stores and got Thila a Tee-Shirt.  We only live about 9 miles from there and will try to go to a Rodeo soon. 

End of 3rd Week
I am now off orientation.  Tonight ends my 3rd week at my assignment.  Things are going well an we are enjoying it here.  Last week we went back to Bossier for a couple of days, when we got back, Thila and I went to Traders Village, a huge flea market, and to see Iron Man at the movie theatre.  We plan on being back on May 23rd in that I have picked up a shift at WK Pierremont that night.

Days of Rest
I finished my 2nd week this morning.  There wasn't much that interesting that went on.  Thila and I decided to make a trip back to Bossier City to see our son Nathan, and see the family.  We still love it where we are at.  North Richland Hills is smack-dab in the middle of everything.  I'm going to try to rest now, I have been going since about 3 pm yesterday.

The Zoo Trip

Today we went to the Fort Worth Zoo.  It was really nice, the and the weather was perfect.

 Today marks our 1-week stay in the Dallas area.  Man we love it here.  I finished up all my classroom orientation yesterday.  There were TONS of tests that involved all narative answers to different scenerio's.  I'm glad I passed.  I was told that your answers were compared to a standard set of answers.  If you didn't give the right answers, the hospital would cancel your contract.

First Day On the Job

Sat through 8 hours of orientation this morning at the Hospital.  I have orientation through Friday, will be off Saturday, then work on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday night.  The hospital is nice and all the people I have dealt with were frendly and helpful.  I plan on having a positive experience here.  Thila says she feels like she could drive here.  I think we'll bring her car when we come back for a visit in about a week.

At the Hospital

Thila's dad was put in the hospital.  They are running a whole slew of tests. 

 I finished all my required paperwork for the new job.  I haven't had time to be bored, not enough time in the day to get things done.

Getting Ready

We are getting ready for the trip.  I spent all day yesterday working on paperwork, collecting medical information and taking tests online. 

Thila and I went to Norton Art Gallery yesterday  and took some pictures of the flowers.  Thila is getting really good with her camera.
